i have been tagged....

man I cant stand the pressure of these things. you see I was "tagged" by my friend and fellow photographer Micheal Corsentino and told if I don't give you all 8 tid bits about myself that no one knows then I will experience some bad luck. this is the latest fad running through the photographer community which is strange I know. I received this email and normally I would have dumped it right away but since it has come my way 4 times now...I will do this and move on.


I don't like chain letters and I don't like the guilt of being forced to fall in line, falling in line has never been my strongest attribute. I promise I am working on that....sort of.... ok not really.





so here we go...

1. my name is maria...every single teacher I ever had from kindergarden to high school sang the west side story song "MAAARRRIIIIAAAA, I just met a girl named MAARIIIAAA!!" to me.
I have never seen west side story.

2. I played bass drum in the high school marching band and when we marched down main street in Disney Land I walked the drum full speed into one of the horse head hitching posts. I broke the drum...sorry. I also never learned what I was supposed to play just played what felt good at the time.

3. i love dipping pizza into mustard. mmm it is so good you should try it!


4. i really like doing the electric slide. I mean I really love it. I think it fills that dance troop desire I have...haven't we all wanted to break into song and dance like Janet Jackson with a huge group of people?...not sure there is more to say than that.

5. i really love shopping at Costco. it is like therapy, plus I get to taste a bunch of food, shop for crap I don't need, wear out my kids and then get a slice of pizza with mustard to dip it in!
a perfect morning! isn't that strange?

6. i love converse. if my clients would let me I would wear them to weddings.I LOVE THEM! i still have the pair that I wore for 8 weeks while traveling Europe.

7. i once wrote a song with my best friend Autumn and we sent it to Kenny Rogers with 1 dollar and asked him to put it on his album.....i was really young.


8.my eyes are the bluest and the clearest when I am exhausted...I get lots of compliments on them, thank goodness! by the way they must be GORGEOUS right now!

a day spent at the park with brooke and brandon

i had the pleasure of spending the day with brooke and brandon at Hap Magee park in Danville!
Brooke is such a great big sister, always watching over her little brother!
thanks for playing with me!

we ended the day with some fun in the water park!

I was so jealous! I swear if I could have I would have joined them!

when I grow old I shall wear purple...

ladies and gentleman I have done it...I have found the worlds ugliest chair, it is amazingly and almost disgustingly wrong in every way!! our designer says there is the "right" place for everything but this my dear friends should have been left in Africa on the back of a Zebra!

shanna and dustin you are amazing, I have never seen a man as in love and protective of his lady as dustin is of his. he asks at the end "babe, is there anything else you want?"

I have NEVER heard a man say that! it is usually "are we done yet?"

when I first moved here it was to live in San Fransisco and go to art school..but with the realization of tuition and meeting my now breathtaking husband Tutt, I never quite made it out there. 9 years later an even bigger dream is coming into fruition...

meet my new photography boutique on Union St in San Fransisco,isn't it fabulous...well almost!

I was blessed with this adorable little angel named Robyn Kessler . we met at a photography get together and 2 months later we are partners in crime. She is the complete opposite of me, always asking permission and worried about rules and such...
i think we are going to be good for one another.

now we are in need of a name, and I would love some help. we need a name for the boutique which will feature the photography of happenstance and robyn kessler photography...have any ideas?

so this is the front of the carriage house...we are the bottom floor.


this is our patio which is going to be my garden in the city..honestly this was the selling point because for me weeding is therapy and a huge stress reliever!the entrance before:

the back office (which we are subletting) before:and after.
we are rebuilding the room to get more space from it. the walls were lined with lead..
so dang heavy! this is going to be a huge challenge , to be honest it already is and I am loving it!
when we are done we are going to have a beautiful little space, a little "cottage" full of creative juice and vintage charm.
